Whistling and Sniffing Simultaneously

Whistling and sniffing at the same time
Can’t hold hands or rather get married
United and collaborative in any case
This duo may perhaps land into the life of some person
The kind of man whose who acts,
Performs duties of the shepherd on the flock.
Like his initial master,
He condemns wickedness,
Goes against what is religiously evil,
And exults the righteous.
But he soon he craves for another pair of his robe
For he does accumulate an avalanche of resources,
His eyes are soon blinded.
Would his robe evade being soiled?

Co-operative sniffing and whistling,
Can hatch into temptations to anybody,
Even the half-human, half God
Did he not get tested in the wilderness?
Our big man opens his eyes one day,
Finds himself campaigning and competing for,
Trying to woo for citizens’ keys,
Essentials for serving the people in a wider circle.

Perhaps his whistling guides his path.
Brings him in the companionship of
Other servants of the people.
Any devoted service present in that house really?

Brotherly whistling and sniffing,
May make one’s conscience slither backwards,
Two or more steps into mud.
He is now influential,
A famous societal figure.
His fat salary seconded with some allowances.
Or even thirded with public developmental resources,
Guarantees him total luxury.
Is this not an opportunistic opportunist?

Our Sniffer and whistler is contended,
Complacent with his success.
Jubilant with him servant is his ‘first Master ’
For keeping to the ‘sacred’ scriptures.
The vehicle which carried him straight,
One way to heaven gets crippled,
It can’t manage to hit the road
Like its American, British and Chinese counterparts,
His sincere promise goes unfulfilled
Unmet due to his pretentious pretence

His ‘second’ Master gets extremely mad.
For loyalty and faithfulness denied.
And furiously plucks him from glory.

Simultaneous whistling and sniffing,
The ‘initial’ heaven can’t simply put up with them.
A wise servant of the masses
A true leader should only whistle at a time,
Sniff at a time.
But not sniffing and whistling simultaneously.

My Lover's Blood

They have been mapping your body, my love
Seeking to poison your blood or clotten it, or blacken it
Now you have been raped, your breasts pinched
Your blood spilled at the West
Flowing across Kimathi’s feet, we are one
I have spilled mine, too
Uhuru Park shall guarantee your freedom
Relax at the bed my sweet red tomato
Let my words caress your ears, your lips kiss me back
Let me refill your veins, blood return to its source
You will never leave me, neither me I swear
Miracles your blood has worked
No more bloodshed, the evil hoods shall remain defeated
No longer can they hold their guns
Or detonate their explosives
For they cannot stop your blood’s flow
Your vessels shall remain intact
Forever and ever
Time no man knows, can’t live to see

Just But a Number

Alisha,
Listen, Miss Universe
Let your ears swallow my words
And again, talk of the numbers not
Mine heart is sick, for you my inner man cries
Let’s hang age on the gallows
Nothing it is, but a number

Sweetie,
Desiring your breath is mine soul
Lips of mine for your touch
In my mind we sleep, groins snuggled into each other
The same in love, we are
We feel it, like twins
Defeated are numbers of age

Alisha,
Very deceiving eyes are
Look in the sky, nothing beyond
Darling, about to gain freedom
Are eyes of the heart and the mind
See mine age not
Let your eyes feel, these lovely objects see
Like two calabash pieces, we fit together
Beat in unison our hearts, don’t you feel?
Age we have divorced, you stupid number!

End of Days

Holy Scripture fulfillment, not mere imagination
Nation fight nation
Father mother, brother sister
Wasting back to soil they are, one after another
Strange diseases winning
See the red fire, the beast has spurt!
Bloody smell, hang loosely on life’s wall
On hearts’ noses
The merciful one, call whoever you want!
Kissing the soil our knees
Descend upon your flock, before the wolf kills them all
Sent no one, sent nothing
Even the chariot of fire

Welcome Home!

Tall taller very tall greetings
Welcome! Welcome! Welcome!
Home here you are
Our soil has been crying for you
To kiss its lips
With the soft mouths of your shoes’ soles
Look at its smiling lips
The way it’s flowing gently through the air
And saying welcome! Welcome!

From North and South, West and East
Faraway lands you have come from
Left a lot to do, your books, your lovers in tears
To witness our sister, your friend
See another dawn of her life
Hear those cocks gently flap their wings
Their beaks joyously singing
Look at these trees’ elegant branches
Those over there even
Bowing slowly from their waists in sheer respect
Release a caressing voice to the ear
In bold capitalized words saying
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME HOME!
